Weekend - 2011

A one-night stand that becomes something more - an unconventional love story
between two young men trying to make sense of their lives. On a Friday night
after hanging out with his straight mates, Russell heads out to a gay
nightclub in Nottingham UK, alone and on the pull. Just before closing time
he picks up Glen. And so begins a weekend (in bars and in bedrooms, getting
drunk and taking drugs, telling life-stories and having sex) that will
resonate throughout their lives.

The movie has already won several awards at International GLBT Film
Festivals. Please note that lists this movie as only becoming
available in UK cinemas from 4 November 2011, and it also says that it is 97
minutes in length. This version is only 81 minutes long, which leads me to
think that this is most likely an "early working version", and is not the
final version to be released to the cinemas and eventually to DVD. This
might also explain the intermittent bad contrast and audio synch problems,
neither of which make it wholly unwatchable.

While the movie has already won several awards at GLBT film festivals, BE
WARNED - the quality is not the greatest, but it is still watchable despite
some contrast and audio-synch problems. ANOTHER WARNING: some guys might
find the "strong" British accents a little difficult to understand!

I guess that the bottom line is just that you should be prepared to download
this movie ONLY if you are willing to live with imperfection while also
getting a truly SEXY gay themed movie.

I, for one, will be looking forward to the full 97 minute version becoming
available!
